Czech SNAGIMG_0704SNAG (Starting New At Golf) in the Czech Republic is helping to grow the game of Golf at a great pace and last week saw the latest SNAG Training Days at Loreta Golf Club, Pysely, hosted by the exclusive SNAG Distributor, Ittec.

Ittec supply the complete range of golf, turf and irrigation systems to golf courses, driving ranges, municipalities and sports clubs. Ittec joined the SNAG programs in 2012 and have successfully started the educational project, “Golf for Kids” which has brought golf to children in schools across the CzechRepublic and Slovakia.

The two day training course was attended by 13 new SNAG coaches who were trained by Master Trainer Tony Howarth. This brings the total number of SNAG Accredited coaches in the region to 61. Tony was assisted by Linda Mannova, a SNAG level 3 trainer, who will help oversee the development of new SNAG coaches across the CzechRepublic and Slovakia.

Day one saw the pupils learn the basic fundamentals of SNAG, followed by a games and SNAG course session in the afternoon. The second day compromised of more SNAG games and the pupils learning the progression from SNAG to traditional golf equipment.

Tony said, “The Czech Republic really is at the forefront of SNAG development programs. The enthusiasm and willingness to learn is second to none and all the coaches have gone away full of drive and confidence to introduce newcomers to the game in a fun, exciting way.”

Lenka Müllerová of Ittec, said: “We at Ittec are very pleased with how the SNAG program is helping develop golf in the CzechRepublic and Slovakia. The training days were excellent and everyone attending had a good time, but most importantly they learned a lot about SNAG and how to make their sessions fun. We had golf professionals, school teachers and volunteers from many regions all learning together to help make learning to play golf much easier and much more interesting.”

“In the coming weeks, around 15 – 20 new schools will be contacted to arrange SNAG sessions as part of the next phase of the roll out.” Lenka added. “We have a big private investor, who would like to support the purchase of the SNAG coaching kits and to fund the SNAG lessons at these schools.”
