Laguna Golf Phuket has appointed internationally experienced golf course specialist Daniel Green as Director of Agronomy, bringing more than 35 years of international experience in golf course construction, renovation, grow-in and management across Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean.
In his new role, Green will lead the agronomy and course maintenance operations at Laguna Golf Phuket, with a focus on maintaining consistently high playing conditions, supporting the long-term development of the course and further enhancing the overall golfer experience.
The appointment comes as Laguna Golf Phuket continues to invest in its 18-hole, par-71 championship course, reinforcing its commitment to course quality and the continued evolution of the golfing experience in Phuket.
“Daniel brings an exceptional depth of international experience, together with a strong understanding of tropical golf course management and a proven track record of leading teams and major course projects,” said Stephen Chick, General Manager at Laguna Golf Phuket. “His experience in Thailand will be particularly valuable as we build on the strengths of Laguna Golf Phuket and take the course into its next phase of development. We are delighted to welcome him to the team and look forward to the expertise and leadership he will bring.”

Green has held senior positions at leading golf facilities in Thailand, including Blue Canyon Country Club, Chee Chan Golf Resort and Alpine Golf & Sports Club. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the construction, renovation, grow-in and ongoing management of golf courses across Thailand, Myanmar, China, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates and Mauritius. His international experience also includes preparing courses for major professional tournaments, including the first two Abu Dhabi Golf Championships.
“I’m delighted to join Laguna Golf Phuket at such an exciting stage in its development,” said Green. “The course has a strong reputation, a great setting and an experienced team, providing an excellent foundation for its next chapter. My priority will be to work closely with Stephen and the agronomy team to continually enhance the course throughout the year, while also investing in the development of our people. A knowledgeable and motivated team is fundamental to achieving lasting improvements and ensuring every golfer enjoys an exceptional experience.”
Green began his career in greenkeeping before completing the three-year Golf Course Operations programme at Lake City Community College in Florida, USA, where he earned an Associate of Science degree in Golf Course Operations.
His appointment further strengthens Laguna Golf Phuket’s focus on course quality and long-term development. Set among tropical lagoons, mature coconut groves and landscaped parkland, the 18-hole, par-71 course forms part of Laguna Phuket, an integrated resort destination on Phuket’s northwest coast. The golf experience is further complemented by the PGA Golf Academy at Laguna Golf Phuket, providing professional instruction and development opportunities for golfers of all levels.
