World Golf Expo 2020 Launched

Asia’s biggest golf initiative has been launched – the Inaugural World Golf Expo 2020 will be staged in the exciting city of Haikou, Hainan. The announcement was made at the culmination of the 2019 Asia Pacific Golf Summit in India. APGS 2019 was the thirteenth in the successful series.

The final staging of APGS 2019 was deemed a success and India put out its best foot forward to host what many regard as one of finest in the series. “The venue was spell-binding, the staging was an experience for all delegates and the food and hospitality set extremely high standards,” declared Mike Sebastian, CEO of the Asia Pacific Golf Group, the owner and producer of APGS 2019.

More than 20 international speakers delivered presentations and the event was attended by some 200 delegates.

In announcing the World Golf Expo 2020, Sebastian said, “APGS has run its course and this presented an opportunity to launch a new event that would address the promotional, educational and marketing needs of the industry.” He added, “Working in collaboration with the giant Mission Hills Group of China, the new event promises to become one of the true great events of golf on a global scale.”

The World Golf Expo 2020 will have the following distinct components:

“It is our intention to work with various stake-holders in golf to make the World Golf Expo 2020 into one of the best in the world and we will strive hard to develop this event as golf’s mecca for the Asia Pacific region in particular and the world in general,” said Mr. Tenniel Chu, Group Vice Chairman of the Mission Hills Group.

The 2019 Asian Golf Awards will be staged today in India and it will mark the 20th anniversary of this prestigious industry recognition event.
