Wilson Offers ‘Tour Experience’ at GolfLIVE

12.04am 3rd May 2011 - Exhibitions & Conferences - This story was updated on Sunday, May 15th, 2011

Wilson Staff, the brand with more Major victories than any other club manufacturer, is planning a special Tour experience for selected golfers attending the GolfLIVE event at the London Golf Club next month (20-22 May).

The brand associated with more than 60 Major wins will give club golfers the chance to have their clubs built like a Tour player on the brand new Wilson Staff Tour truck. After being custom-fitted using the latest launch monitor technology, some lucky golfers will have their clubs moulded and adjusted within 30 minutes on the brand’s 11-metre long truck – which supports the likes of three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington and recent Andalucian Open champion Paul Lawrie.

The Tour experience will be enhanced by the presence of European Tour player Steve Webster, who famously beat Tiger Woods to the Open Championship amateur Silver Medal at St Andrews in 1995. Steve, who signed with Wilson earlier this year, will be on the Wilson Staff bays between 1-3 pm on Sunday to give expert advice.

“The Wilson Staff set-up at this year’s Golf LIVE gives some club golfers the chance of VIP treatment, just like a top European Tour player,” said Marketing Manager Rick Hazelden. “It allows them to experience the attention to detail required to support top players.”

Wilson Golf will also be devoting much of its prime exhibition space at the show to give youngsters aged between six and 12 the chance to test clubs modeled on those used by Tour players like Harrington and recent US Masters contender Ricky Barnes. A selection of clubs from the Wilson Staff FG Tour junior sets will be available to hit on the range.

Golfers will be able to book their fitting appointment on the day.
