The NEC Group extends its commitment to golf

12.45am 16th August 2000 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The NEC Group and Ryder Cup organisers have announced a unique joint partnership for 2001. For the first time ever, Golfexpo, Europe’s premier golfing exhibition organised by the NEC, and The Ryder Cup, one of golf’s greatest sporting events, will combine to provide visitors with the biggest and most prestigious golf experience ever.

The Ryder Cup is to be hosted by The Belfry in September of next year and the world of golf will descend upon Birmingham during this time. During the Match the NEC will play a pivotal role in hosting the Ryder Cup Village at Golfexpo and provide essential facilities for thousands of visitors.

“The Ryder Cup is the golfing event in next year’s calendar and we are obviously delighted to be working alongside the organisers,” commented Renà© Bros, NEC exhibition manager. “The presence of The Village at Golfexpo will enable all enthusiasts, with or without competition tickets, to experience the Ryder Cup phenomenon.”

The NEC has agreed to provide car parking for visitors and transport to and from The Belfry. In addition, visitors will be able to complete their Ryder Cup experience in The Village at Golfexpo and enjoy all the features and attractions of Europe’s leading exhibition. Once the day’s play has been completed, they can then relax, eat and drink in one of the many refreshment areas.
