Swing Catalyst — the complete swing analysis system used by instructors, coaches and golfers around the world — has received an award for its free swing analysis app at the Golf Europe Show held Sept. 28 – 30 in Augsburg.

The Swing Catalyst App from Swing Catalyst won the honors in the Training Aids + Customer Fitting category. Evaluation criteria for the award was “functionality, degrees of innovation, user friendliness and design/style”. Tony Bennett, director of education for the PGA of Europe, presented the award at a ceremony at the show.

The jury of experts included Andreas Dorsch, executive manager of Golf Management Association of Germany; Ben Evans, editor of Cutting Edge Golf; Klaus Nadizar, editor-in-chief of Golfrevue; Eva Neumann, owner of ONE Golf Coaching & Consulting; Harry Schenavsky, executive manager of EGM Ihr Golfprofi GmbH; Phillipp von Schönborn, editor of Golf Journal and Martin Westphal, member of the Education Committee of the PGA of Europe and R&A Golf Development Consultant Team, and managing director of Märkischer Golfclub Postdam.

“We were extremely proud to receive this award on Sunday,” says Tom Christian, marketing manager for Swing Catalyst. “Our team of developers has been working hard for more than two years developing the app, and is still working just as hard to improve its functionality while also adding new and exciting features. Nearly 10,000 golfers have downloaded the app only two months after its release, and we’re hoping many more will download it in the months to come. Our app is 100 percent free to download and use, so go and check it out yourself on the App Store now.”

Initial Force AS is a Norwegian company that was established in 2006, with the goal of developing an easy-to-understand and simple-to-use motion analysis system for golf instruction. Previously this type of data was only available at high-end research facilities, Olympic training centres, and advanced university sports laboratories. The results of the endeavours led to the development of Swing Catalyst, a revolutionary new technological system for golf training that integrates the unique Swing Catalyst 3D Motion and Balance Plates, multiple high-speed cameras and the most-popular ball flight and club tracking devices.
