Scottish Golf Show moves to Glasgow

7.55am 13th November 2008 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The 2009 golf season is set to tee-off in Glasgow following the announcement that next year’s Scottish Golf Show is to be held at the SECC from 20-22 March.

This follows the decision by the organisers of the annual event to relocate the increasingly-popular three-day golfing bonanza to Scotland’s premier exhibition centre from its previous home at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston, near Edinburgh.

The Ingliston venue had hosted the event since its inception in 2006 and, while it served the show well, the hope is that the move to the SECC will take the Scottish Golf Show to a new level, with a record 20,000 visitors predicted to attend next year.

Event organiser Tom Lovering revealed, “We are delighted to be moving the Scottish Golf Show to the SECC. It is, without question, the No.1 exhibition centre in the country and, with Scotland being the ‘Home of Golf’, we can think of no better partnership to make the Scottish Golf Show an even bigger success than it has been in previous years.

“The show will grow in size with more retail space, more exhibitors, more driving bays and much more interaction for all levels of golfer. The Scottish Golf Show has firmly established itself as the perfect tee-off to the golf season and this move to the SECC will unquestionably give Scottish golfers something to look forward to at the end of a long hard winter.”
