World-renowned sport and learning expert, Richard Bailey, will present at the 2014 Teaching & Coaching Conference (TCC) in conjunction with Ryder Cup Europe joining a maximum of 300 PGA Professional delegates at Stirling University Management Centre in Scotland at the beginning of Ryder Cup week.

Currently based in Berlin, Germany, Bailey brings with him a wealth of experience and research-based knowledge on the relationship between physical activity, sport and human development.

The second day of the TCC focuses on elite performance with Bailey looking specifically at the coaching experience from the perspective of the player. He will be talking about how people learn, why they play, and how the coach can use this knowledge to provide the most positive, successful experience for everyone.

“It is a genuine honour to be invited to talk at the TCC Conference,” said Bailey. “I always enjoy talking to PGA coaches, who lead the world of sport in terms of their professionalism and breadth of expertise. I hope to challenge them with some new ways of thinking about teaching, learning and enjoying golf. And, as always happens when I meet golf pros, I expect to walk away with new insights too.”

Known as ‘Dr. Dick’, Bailey regularly contributes to academic and popular publications, including The Huffington Post and Psychology Today, writes his own blog called ‘Talking Education and Sport (http://talkingeducationandsport.blogspot.de), and tweets regularly about sport, expertise and learning (@DrDickB).

The 2014 TCC takes place on Sunday 21 and Monday 22 of September and will see up to 300 delegates attend for education seminars that look at the game from grass roots up to elite level.

Conference Delegates will also be given the opportunity to attend the Junior Ryder Cup at Blairgowrie Golf Club on Tuesday 23rd and the Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th Practice Days at The 2014 Ryder Cup.
