PGA World Alliance Leaders attend Asia Golf Show / PGA Merchandise Show Asia 2013

Asia Golf Show / PGA Merchandise Show Asia 2013 were a great success. Asia Golf Show experienced an increase in visitor numbers by 26% in comparison to last year and an overall visitor satisfaction rate of over 75%. Asia Golf Show had an exciting 450 TAP attendees during its first year of the implementation of the program in Asia Golf Show. TAP (Targeted Attendee Program) is a tailor made program for designated buyers attending the show with a set purchase list and has the expectancy to make purchases on-site.

Asia Golf Show 5R2A6903Along with all the quality buying visitors, many associations came to review the latest market trends and view the latest technology in the industry. The most notable association appearances were 9 of the top PGA World Alliance bodies were represented at the show as distinguished guests. Asia Golf Show presented 3 free educational events running concurrently during Asia Golf Show the PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit Asia, PGA Business Workshops and Educations Seminars hosted by GCSAA, GCBAA and ASGCA. Asia Golf Show has continued to grow every year since it started in 2011 and expect to continue the development along with the steady growth of golf in China.

PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit Asia

During the annual PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit Asia, PGA of America invited top class coaches in order to share their experiences and knowledge to help coaches improve their coaching skills. The sessions were applying to all coaches regardless of experience and skill level. Lead by PGA of America, world class coaches was invited by the likes of Adrian Cafaro, Director of Instruction at the PGA Academy Bayhood 9 in Beijing and Iain Roberts, Executive Director at Mission Hills Academy Shenzhen who also received the honourable “Advanced Fellowship Award” at Asia Golf Show from Sandy Jones, CEO of PGA Great Britain and Ireland.

PGA Business Workshops

PGA Business Workshop was a new initiative during Asia Golf Show which focused on improving golf operations and retail of golf industry professionals. The workshops were led by Dawes Marlatt, Sr. Director of Education and Employment at PGA of America also represented in 2010 as the 29th most powerful person in golf by Golf Inc Magazine. The PGA Business Workshop is an initiative was well executed by PGA of America in order to increase the knowledge of areas such as golf retail, tournament, facilities and caddie/golf cart management in the China and South East Asia.

Education Seminars hosted by GCSAA, GCBAA and ASGCA

The education seminars seek to provide new knowledge to golf course professionals including GC General Managers, Superintendents and Turfgrass managers to assist in achieving operational efficiency and understanding for the challenges that arises in golf course management.

The seminars are led by leading association in their respective field of golf course function, GCSAA (Golf Course Superintendent Association of America), GCBAA (Golf Course Builders Association of America) and ASGCA (American Society of Golf Course Architects).  Presenters in current and past Education Seminars include, Lee Schmidt Principal of Schmidt Curley Design, Pat Finlen, President of GCSAA, Rick Robbins, President of Rick Robbins Design etc.

The Asia Golf Show/PGA Merchandise Show-Asia, organized by Reed Guanghe Exhibitions, is the sister show to the China Golf Show. Located in Shenzhen, it covers the fast-developing South China and Asian markets that are home to millions of golf enthusiasts.

As the leading trade, education and networking platform in South China’s golf industry, the event is dedicated to connecting suppliers of golf products with distributors, golf course decision makers and amateur enthusiasts.
