Back in January, Centre Exhibitions, the subsidiary of the NEC Group which had taken over the organisation of Golfexpo, was announcing its plans to revitalise the show. Just nine months later the Company has found itself to be the focus of some unwelcome attention in the ever-so-small world that is the European golf industry where ‘news’, which is usually more accurately described as ‘speculation’, travels even faster than a Tiger Woods drive.
In an exclusive interview with Golf Business News.com, Renà© Bros, the Exhibition Manager for Golfexpo 2000, denies the stories which swept through the exhibition halls at Golf Europe in Munich, re-named “rumour city” by one exasperated industry insider, and repeats the promise that the NEC Group and Centre Exhibitions have made a 10-year commitment to the Golf Industry and to Golfexpo in particular – a serious investment in money, time, personnel and information.
