Golf Linx Live is a show that aims to engage with every member of the family who has a passion for golf. Chester Group, the originator and organiser of ‘Golf Linx Live 2015’ has received much praise and encouragement for this brand new show.
When the Group undertook its original market research two things stood out: the amount of goodwill and drive that existed in the industry promoting take up of this great sport, and also the needs of the golfing community to broaden the sport’s appeal and image and make courses more accessible to derivatives of Golf.
In order to achieve that, value for money was top of the list plus a sufficient and diverse range of attractions so that everyone – whatever their age or capabilities – could find something that attracted and engaged with them.
Although there have been ‘live’ events like this in the past, there has never been one where the venue and host course are jointly engaged as sponsors. With these key aspects now in place, the show has grown quickly, aided by the event’s clear market objectives.
Chester Group founder Roy Bird says: ‘Golf, like many other leisure and sports pursuits, has been well represented (and still is) with indoor events and they have an important role to play; but ‘live’ events are ‘de rigeur’ as they allow visitors to participate/interact with all the show elements and thus provide not only greater value for money, but also often prolong visitor stays including weekends, to the benefit of the trade. We were also intent on offering great value for money, being mindful of how costly it can be for families to attend shows. So we have tried very hard to make the entrance ticket all-inclusive, even to the extent that admission ‘includes’ an eight-hole round of golf and children under 16 come in free!’
