The first man in the United Kingdom to earn ‘master greenkeeper’ honours is just one of the speakers confirmed for December’s fourth annual European Golf Business Conference.

Laurence W Pithie MG, who now runs training and consultancy company Turf Master One, will talk about boosting revenue when improving maintenance and management of the golf course.

Joining him at the dais will be hospitality expert Jaap Funnekotter, CEO of Hotelschool The Hague Performance Management BV, who will speak about maximising the return on investment in hospitality – stressing that an unsatisfied customer will think twice before coming back.

Together with other speakers and participants, they will define The Next Step; from change to opportunity.
Subjects under discussion will include how golf courses can take advantage of changes; how golf course owners can generate more revenue by developing tourism; use of e-marketing and yield management; and more solutions to problems golf operators are faced with on a daily basis.

The 2009 European Golf Business Conference is at the Renaissance Hotel, in Amsterdam, from 2-4 December. http://conference.egcoa.eu/ The Conference is organised by the European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA).

The EGCOA provides services to support golf course owners in their aims, represents their interests on a European level and improves golf business on a European level. The EGCOA represents more than 650 members in 24 European countries.
