The Organisation of Golf Range Owners (OGRO) has announced details of its first National Conference. It will be held at Cedar Court Hotel, Harrogate on 22nd January 2003.

With BTME and Clubhouse taking place in the same town at the same time, next month Harrogate is hosting what is in effect the biggest and most wide-ranging golf business-to-golf business event that the UK has ever seen.

The newly formed OGRO is aimed at range owners and operators. Golf centres, golf courses with ranges and indoor golf facilities are all welcomed as members. Subjects to be covered during the one-day conference include range construction and refurbishment, netting, lighting and equipment.

Nick Freestone and Tom Marriott from Chesterton HMH will talk about the valuation of golf ranges while other guest speakers include the well-known agronomist Gordon Jaaback, Richard Flint from the English Golf Union and Stephen Lewis whose company, Bay Drive Ltd, recently took over the TopGolf Game Centre in Watford and bought the exclusive rights to TopGolf in the UK and Ireland.

The programme includes time for a general discussion and open forum. Delegate cost is £48 to include coffee, lunch and delegate pack. Bookings can be made by telephone to 01580 893899.
