Civil unrest causes Golf Expo postponement

12.57am 13th April 2010 - Exhibitions & Conferences

“Due to the sudden imposition of a state of emergency ruling by the government of Thailand, we have been forced to cancel the 2010 Southeast Asia/India Golf Merchandise Exposition scheduled to be held in Bangkok,” said Mike Sebastian, managing director of the organisers. “This has been very unfortunate and we regret the inconvenience caused to all of our exhibitors who had helped to make this event a sell-out.

“As this exposition was designed specifically to showcase the Spring 2010 line-up of golf equipment, apparel and accessories, we do not think the postponement of the event would be the correct action to take.

“However, we have decided to proceed with the announcement that the 2011 Southeast Asia/India Golf Merchandise Exposition will be staged in Bangkok on March 18-20, 2011. We hope to see all of our exhibitors and visitors next year in Bangkok.

“However the Inaugural PGA Conference of Asia is on – the venue has been shifted to the Novotel Survanabhumi Airport Hotel and the show dates are April 30 – May.”
