Big brands back London Show 2008

8.21am 18th February 2008 - Exhibitions & Conferences

Everyone at the London Golf Show will have the chance to be treated like an Open Champion when it opens its doors from 25-27 April.

Cleveland and Wilson will be among the major equipment manufacturers on hand at the golfing extravaganza, with both bringing their custom-fitting trucks and offering visitors an exclusive custom fit-and-build service usually reserved for their tour professionals including Open champion Padraig Harrington, Ryder Cup hero David Howell and former world number one Vijay Singh.

Nike will also be present and showcasing its latest range of clubs, the Sumo family – encompassing drivers, woods, hybrids and irons – in addition to supplying all the equipment for golfers attempting to hole out on the show’s iconic floating green moored in the Victoria Dock.

Cleveland will be promoting its new XLS range of drivers and woods and this will be one of the first occasions golfers can get their hands on the range in this country.

Ben Davis, Cleveland’s marketing manager, said, “We’re really looking forward to the show. It’s a great opportunity for us to get our latest clubs in the hands of the public. When we’ve offered custom-fitting at shows in the past it’s always gone down a storm and with our new XLS range available it’s the ideal place for people to get hold of some new clubs.”

Jay Tyson, project director for the Golf Show Group, said, “It’s good to see the big brands back supporting the show again. The indoor driving range is one of the show’s biggest attractions and people love to be able to get their hands on the latest clubs from the big names.”

The London Golf Show – Europe’s largest consumer golf show – returns to ExCeL from 25-27 April bringing with it the iconic floating green; Europe’s biggest golf retail area courtesy of american golf; hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the best in equipment, fashion, golf holidays and much more; dozens of interactive activities, many with great prizes to be won; and chipping areas, putting competitions and an indoor driving range on which to try out the new equipment before buying.

This year there will also be free flights to be won in pre-show competitions with the event’s official airline partner Monarch.

Advance tickets are two for the price of one and all visitors get free entry to ‘A Place in the Sun Live’, taking place at ExCeL the same weekend. Under-13s go free when with an adult.
