Asbri Golf reports strong orders at PGA Show

10.47am 8th February 2019 - Exhibitions & Conferences

Asbri Golf recently exhibited for their 15th consecutive year at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida and once again filled their export order books for the upcoming season.

The Welsh golf accessory company who specialise in logo and branded merchandise has enjoyed continued success at the world’s largest golf trade show since 2004 and export sales now equates to 44% of their turnover.

Despite the uncertainty of Brexit surrounding all UK businesses at the moment, Asbri has continued to thrive and buck all trends with continued year on year growth since the company’s inception in 2003. Demand for its products has required significant investment in 2018, with re-location to a new larger headquarters based in Caerphilly, South Wales.

That investment included expansion of their in-house embroidery and print facilities to better service customers with their crested products and to maintain the companies already excellent industry service levels.

Paul Williams, Sales & Marketing Director commented: “We have had fantastic success once again at the PGA Show, signing new distribution agreements in a number of markets worldwide. However, we are particularly excited about our Canadian partners, who are doing an incredible job for us through hundreds of golf clubs and resorts. We have reached an agreement at the show to expand their distribution of our products into the USA, as well as continuing to service the golf trade in Canada. We are very excited about what we can achieve together and the move to new headquarters last season was a key stepping stone for us to reach this agreement to be better prepared to fulfil their orders.”

Eryl Williams, Managing Director, added: “The US is the largest market in golf and even though we currently have some good business and a sales office already based there, we have not even scratched the surface. Our plan is to replicate the success we have had through the UK and Europe and we are confident that we now have the right partners and sales representatives to achieve this. Export is crucial for our growth, particularly to countries that can enjoy year round golf such as the US. Many parts of the UK and Europe are seasonal when it comes to golf and this obviously limits our sales. There is so much uncertainty at the moment surrounding UK & Europe with Brexit, but we are determined to not let that affect our business and the jobs we have created within Wales.”

Asbri Golf is a PGA Partner, Official Supplier to the Staysure European Senior Tour, and also an Approved Supplier to the Foremost Group. The company currently exports to over 35 countries and supplies approximately 3,500 golf clubs, resorts and corporate companies worldwide.
