GMG In New Partnership with Sustainability Experts Zellar

12.39pm 23rd October 2023 - Environment & Sustainability

Golf Management Group (GMG) has announced a new partnership with sustainability experts Zellar.

The partnership is offering a brand-new digital sustainability platform that provides everything a sports organisation needs to plan, activate, measure, report and share its sustainability journey, Zellar makes it easy for organisations to make a start and take on climate action.

Following Zellar’s sustainability plan can help the average sports club reduce its energy consumption by up to 33% and unlock estimated savings of up to £4,100.

“As part of this new partnership,” says Scott Partington of GMG, “we are delighted to share that GMG members are able to take advantage of an opportunity to grab an exclusive 10% discount!

“You simply need to head to the sign-up page – https://app.zellar.com/signup– and enter your club’s details and then click ‘I have a discount code’ – then enter code GMGZ23 to make the Zellar licence discounted by 10%.”

Zellar’s sustainability platform helps organisations to calculate and understand their carbon emissions and then build an achievable plan to reduce them, based on their size and sector.  Every completed action on your Zellar plan is rewarded with points. These go towards an overall Zellar score that organisations can share so that the outside world can see their progress.

By helping organisations such as golf clubs to minimise their energy, waste and water usage; identify and invest in green technology and find biodiversity and volunteering projects, each unique Zellar plan has the power to reduce emissions, costs and environment impact.

Golf clubs, like many other customer facing businesses face huge energy and utility pressures, and combining Zellar’s service with GMG Energy Club offering can provide an opportunity to explore a number of sustainable energy options such as solar power to reduce costs, consumption and carbon emissions.

GMG Director, Scott Partington says, “I firmly believe that all businesses must prioritise reducing energy costs, consumption and emissions, by doing so we not only contribute to a greener planet but also the long-term sustainability of our sporting facilities enabling future generations to enjoy the sport whilst keeping our costs in check, our partnership with Zellar can only make that journey a smoother one.

Due to their structure it’s sometimes difficult for golf clubs to be fully informed on the latest industry initiatives and this is where GMG can assist, along with Zellar we are there to inform, advise and support them on their green journey.”

Founder of Zellar, Gary Styles added: “Britain’s sports and recreational clubs have huge influence over their communities. We believe they have a unique opportunity to lead the way in tackling sustainability, and to become a powerful agent for change by inspiring their members to follow their lead.”

“We’re really excited to be partnering GMG by making Zellar accessible and affordable, and by inspiring clubs of all shapes and sizes the length and breadth of the UK to get involved, we can make a real impact.”

Over 70 golf and sport clubs, have already joined Zellar’s rapidly growing community of over 1,000 UK organisations. Together, they’ve been inspired to make 230 operational changes and 350 energy checks that will deliver crucial energy and cost savings. As well as investing over £500,000 in energy saving green technologies, such as solar panels and electric vehicle charging units.
