Playing conditions at Murrayshall Country Estate‘s two parkland golf courses have been further enhanced following the purchase of new of-the-art course maintenance machinery as part of an investment of almost £1 million at the Perthshire venue.
Purchase of the Ventrac system, supplied by a specialist manufacturer in Ohio in the United States, consists of a compact tractor unit with two mowing decks, a trencher to create and maintain ditches, a power broom and a snow blade. The creation of meandering ditches, which also help drainage, is part of the programme of course improvements.
“The magnificent settings of our Murrayshall and Lynedoch courses present particular challenges, especially when maintaining the woodland margins,” explained General Manager Gary Silcock. “The new system allows us to actively manage maintenance projects on the courses and throughout the estate more quickly, adding value to the golfing experience.”
“Its versatility with multiple attachments ensures we have a portfolio of tools to tackle most jobs without the need to hire in additional machinery,” Silcock added. “It will make golfers’ journey around Murrayshall even more pleasant and interesting, and is one of many steps towards fulfilling our ambition to become one of Scotland’s premier golfing destinations.”
