Saadiyat Beach Golf Club is celebrating once again after picking up a series of accolades at the annual 2015 Troon Leadership conference, hosted at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa in Chandler, Arizona, from May 5th – 7th. In the hotly contested Superintendent of the Year 2014 category, Group Director of Agronomy, Andrew Whittaker triumphed against an extremely strong list of nominees, whilst the club’s marketing team claimed the International Social Media Rockstar Award.
Reflecting the brand’s status as the market leader in upscale golf course management, delegates from around the world gathered for the three-day conference and coveted awards ceremony in what is Troon’s 25th anniversary year. As one of the Middle East’s leading golf clubs and a pioneer in forward-thinking communication methods, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club was the recipient of the Social Media Rockstar award in recognition of the fun and engaging content which has seen the Gary Player-designed beach-front course significantly grow its followers over the past year.
Following the awards, Director of Club Operations at Saadiyat Beach, Scott McCaw, commented, “Firstly I must congratulate both Andrew and the marketing team for their outstanding efforts in delivering a truly first-class service for both our members and guests. Attended by over 400 delegates from 15 countries & 30 US States, this year’s conference was the biggest in Troon’s 25-year history. Bruce Glasco, Troon’s COO, Managing Director International Division, was quick to praise the efforts of the Saadiyat team. “These awards are richly deserved and testament to the forward-thinking team who collectively deliver above and beyond for every member and guest on a daily basis. Special praise must go to Andrew, who continues to impress, leading a team that ensures both our facilities in Abu Dhabi are presented in immaculate condition all year round.”
Since opening in 2010, the Gary Player-designed course has gone from strength to strength and 2015 marks yet another year in which awards and accolades have been bestowed upon the golf club, firmly securing its position as one of the jewels in Abu Dhabi’s golfing crown.
