Thornbury Golf Centre near Bristol has completed a major redevelopment of its driving range facility, becoming the first in the region to install TrackMan Range technology.

The new state-of-the-art driving range boasts 23 bays with TrackMan touchscreens on the original driving range site. The outfield has also been totally remodelled to create a more immersive experience for visitors.

Tim Good, General Manager of Thornbury Golf Centre, said: “We would encourage anyone in the local area to come and enjoy this new technology. This is a fantastic new facility that’ll allow advanced golfers and beginners alike to experience an array of exciting game modes that the latest TrackMan Range technology has to offer.”

The range features Trackman Range in all 23 hitting bays

The total investment into the new driving range at Thornbury Golf Centre is more than £400,000. Adding to the experience, guests can be served with food and drinks from the club bar, all from the comfort of their hitting bay. Range hosts will be on hand to take orders from the afternoon right through until closing time in the late evening, daily. Alternatively, guests can order from the extensive menu via the QR code found in their bay.

The new games room at Thornbury Golf Centre

In addition to the driving range, Thornbury Golf Centre has been making further improvements throughout the club, in particular the new Archway Room. This old storage facility has been turned into a lively pool, darts, and sports bar room, offering the perfect hosting space for events and golf packages.

The club’s lodge facilities have also been given a refresh, totalling another £50,000 investment. The on-site accommodation comes in the form of a beautiful, listed farmhouse. With various bespoke packages available, accommodation at Thornbury Golf Centre is a great addition to a day’s golf, weddings, birthdays, and even team building events.

On the golf course, the club is almost halfway through a £750,000 irrigation project that has been split into three phases. The first two phases are set to be completed in the spring, while phase three will take place in the autumn, and be completed by spring next year.

In total, this represents more than £1 million worth of investments into the golf course and facilities for local people to use and enjoy.

Good added: “We’re really excited to be able to offer one of the most advanced driving ranges in the UK to people in our region. Also, by continuing to make developments throughout the entire centre, we can deliver the best possible experience for members and visitors who come to Thornbury, from start to finish.”

Thornbury also features the 18-hole Marlwood Course that offers a wonderful blend of challenging holes across the rolling hills. It was recently listed inside the ‘25 Must Play Golf Courses Recommended in England’ by golf course review website www.golfshake.com. It also has a par-3 short course that is ideal for beginners and approach play practice, and a well-stocked pro shop.

The 18-hole Marlwood course is also benefitting from investment with a new irrigation system being installed over the next year
