The Belfry Launches New Brabazon Course Guide

12.29am 28th September 2010 - Course Development

The Belfry, the spiritual home of the modern Ryder Cup, has launched a ground-breaking Video Golf Guide of its flagship Brabazon course, which can now be downloaded straight to an iPhone.

The HD-quality guide, produced by the innovative Video Golf Guides company, features fly-over reels of all 18 individual holes of the four-time Ryder Cup course. The guide is narrated by leading former amateur and six-time Walker Cup player Gary Wolstenholme, and can be downloaded from The Belfry website to the iPhone.

“The fact that the video guide can be downloaded to an iPhone means the golfer can carry the guide in their own pocket and stand on the first tee fully prepared to take on the course,” said Gary Silcock, Director of Golf at The Belfry.

The Belfry has invested over £3 million in course enhancements since the last time The Brabazon staged The Ryder Cup in 2002. There have been notable improvements to 12 holes including the memorable 18th hole, which has seen the green re-laid to allow for pin positions closer to the lake.

As well as the individual HD-quality hole guides, The Belfry has also introduced a separate resort video, which details one of Europe’s foremost golfing facilities and its top class hospitality.

The 324-room resort offers an impressive range of on-site facilities: a range of bars and restaurants; on-site nightclub; an indulgent spa for mind and body; extensive gym and leisure provisions; the largest golf and lifestyle resort shop in Europe; and comprehensive corporate facilities.
