St Enodoc unveils new-look website

12.32pm 3rd April 2023 - Course Development

St Enodoc Golf Club in North Cornwall has revamped its website in order to fully showcase the beauty and majesty of its Church Course which sits above dunes overlooking the north Atlantic Ocean and Camel Estuary.

Using the latest drone photography, the home page of the new website features sweeping views over the James Braid-designed layout while a set of stunning new images take the viewer through a mesmerizing tour of the championship links.

“Our fantastic location here in Rock lends itself to some quite incredible vistas from each of the holes on the Church Course, but the members felt very strongly that our old website was not really doing the course justice and portraying it in all its glory,” says General Manager Simon Greatorex. “However, we now feel that the visual impact that has been created on the new site cannot fail to impress our online visitors and hopefully entice them to come and see the course for themselves and play what is one of England’s finest links. Over the coming months we hope to welcome visitors not just from the UK but from all over the world now that we are showcasing our course to its very best advantage.”

The club commissioned web design company GolfWorking to build the new website, while professional photographer Geoff Ellis, also of GolfWorking, was employed to take a new collection of images of the Church and Holywell Courses.

“The goal was to create a website that truly reflects the prestige of the club and showcases the beauty of the courses. We employed a design ethos that allowed the images and video to take centre stage and do the talking; with such a photographic location and two stunning golf courses, our work was made easy,” commented Ellis, who is based in Bristol.

“In addition to designing the new website, it was an absolute joy to capture the courses at St Enodoc. The rolling fairways, the variety of holes and the jaw-dropping views of the Camel Estuary and Atlantic Ocean make the Church Course one of the most photogenic courses I have worked on whilst the contrasting Holywell Course presented me with a very different challenge but just as enjoyable.

“GolfWorking was extremely excited to be approached by St Enodoc as we saw this as a great opportunity to not only create an outstanding website for the club but also to showcase what we can offer. We are honoured to be associated with a club of St Enodoc’s stature and proud to put our name to this website. We are delighted with the end result and hope that the website will be a great asset to the club and its members.”

At the end of last year, St Enodoc was awarded GEO Certification in acknowledgement of a number of years of work in meeting the rigorous requirements set out in the GEO standard; in doing so it became the first GEO club in Cornwall to achieve this credential. In recognition of this, St Enodoc has added a new section to the revamped website that is dedicated to the environment and details a wide range of information about the flora and fauna that thrives in and around the golf courses.

Alongside the relaunch of its new website, St Enodoc has refreshed its club logo with input from the creator of the original design, Jim Crouch. While the new logo has retained its iconic view of St Enodoc Church and the north Cornwall coast, it has been freshened up and made more user-friendly for use in all mediums.
