President Jacob Zuma and his cabinet chose the unique, award-winning leisure venue at the heart of the Big 5 Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the Waterberg area of Limpopo as the setting for their annual January legkotla to set out the Government’s strategies for this year.

Location, location, location is the mantra for a great conference. So where better to inspire President Zuma, his Ministers, Executive and Deputies, at their Legend Lekgotla than at the world-class resort which sits at the foot of the majestic, dramatic Hanglip Mountain…a truly spiritual and awe-inspiring African venue which already boasts a collection of industry awards including Africa’s Leading Sports Resort and South Africa’s Leading Golf Resort (2010 World Travel Awards) plus is the newest and most unique conference and leisure venue on the continent already attracting major conferences and incentive groups from around the world.

Over five days, the political magnates had exclusive access to the venue – home to the World’s Best Golf Course (2010 International Property Awards) – as they addressed crucial issues such as job creation. Under the gaze of the majestic Hanglip Mountain, on which is situated the innovative Extreme 19th golf hole, the delegates met in specialised conference venues within Legend Lodges, Hotels and Resorts’ flagship resort to plan their political direction for the next 12 months and beyond.

Peet Cilliers, CEO of Legend Lodges, Hotels & Resorts, said: “For more than six months, Legend Golf & Safari Resort worked extremely closely with the Office of the President to host this vital meeting of all elements of our Government.

“We are extremely honoured to have been chosen as the venue for the Legend Lekgotla and share the aspirations of our Government for a successful and prosperous year for our people.

“We understand job creation is at the heart of the Lekgotla and this is an ambition we share as Legend Golf & Safari Resort plans its own growth over the coming years. Our aim is to become the national and international destination of choice to businesses through conferencing and meetings, as well as to leisure travellers searching for a true South African bush and leisure experience.

“We are delighted President Zuma and his executives enjoyed a most productive and enjoyable stay with us here in Limpopo and hope the tranquility and beauty of the Waterberg helped inspire the Legend Lekgotla to become a platform for leading South Africa to a wonderful 2011 and beyond.”

A government spokesperson said: “ We chose Legend Golf & Safari Resort in Limpopo because it embodies many of the values we are striving to achieve in Government…innovation, job creation, and dynamic leadership with a global presence…all that is best about South Africa and its people.”
