“We are expecting some 160,000 KwH of production from this site – this is a return to the club of some £35,000 – the client has already expressed an interest in going for turbine number two!” says Iain Macpherson – Rain Bird Energy Manger. “This amount will furnish the Golf Club with all its electric needs and give capacity for any proposed expansion.”
“Clubs are paying in the region of 10p KwH and our client gets paid 21p KwH for their production – Why wouldn’t you do it?” adds Iain.
“We are fixed in on cost these next 20 years which is not to be dismissed against the inevitable raises that occur against world energy demand,” said Jim Barlow; director at Merlin.
Prices of electric are set to be raised 9% by the top 6 utility companies; as reported recently in the national press. Rain Bird is intent on providing golfing communities relief… This is on top of the 15% in the previous last years – check the bills!

We have long had a belief to get the course into better shape that has year on year been acknowledged. We have cleaned up the playing surrounds to make the play such that members and green fee paying visitors can hit the ball, find it and play again – such that at this friendly club the bar resonates with happy golfers.
“On the basis of continued investment, I can look forward to investment in machinery to ease the workload of my staff and improve the presentation paid for in part by the returns made by the turbine – what is there not to like?”
