The Shropshire Golf Centre has invested £75,000 in a new marquee to broaden its capacity and has invited people from across the region to a special Halloween party to celebrate its launch.

The marquee, which was officially opened by the Mayor of Telford and Wrekin, Malcolm Smith, at the launch party on Friday,31st October 2014, is a permanent structure, which can accommodate as many as 200 guests for a variety of occasions including weddings, corporate events, private dinners and cocktail parties.

Featuring its own bar, dance floor and mood lighting, the new installment at The Shropshire – part of BGL Golf, the UK’s leading course owner and operator – complements the two existing function rooms, the Loft and Farmhouse, which can accommodate up to 90 and 150 guests respectively. The launch party commences from 7pm and guests will ‘dress to impress’ for an evening including a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, canapés and a three course meal, plus Big Band Swing entertainment from Neil Harrison with more music later from The Shropshire’s resident DJ until 1am.

Stuart Perry, The Shropshire Golf Centre General Manager, said: “We have responded to popular demand for an enlarged events space capable of comfortably accommodating up to 200 people with the instalment of our new marquee. “I look forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces to the launch party and welcoming many more as we continue to use the marquee for all kinds of occasions throughout the year.”
