New Golf Course for Iran

Following an International tender in 2010, Pacific Coast Design (PCD) were engaged by TSI – Iranian Land in 2011 for the planning and design of a proposed international standard 18 hole golf course / 9 hole golf academy, tourism and residential accommodation development.

The project is the first such golf course in Iran for over thirty three years, commenced construction in April 2012 and is due to be completed by early 2014.

The Iranian Minister for Sport & Youth Affairs, Mohammad Abbasi hit the first golf ball at the construction inauguration ceremony which was also attended by PCD Directors.

While the entire site is 1,400 hectares, the Golf zone Master Planned by PCD includes club and golf course / villas / apartments / hotel / schools / commercial and golf academy and forms a land parcel of 340 hectares.

The golf course is planned as an international standard, championship 18 holes of Par 72 of 6,570 metres in length (7,185 yards) with an associated 9 hole par 3 Golf Academy course of 682 metres (746 yards).

The bulk of the site has elevations between 1055 metres and 1100 metres and is semi-desert land without a single tree. This will soon change as the land will be irrigated by treated effluent water and both landscape and grass nursery have already been established on site.
