Lingfield Park’s brand new state of the art golf academy with practice facilities set to rival any counterpart in the area is hosting a grand opening on Wednesday 3rd November.

Sir Henry Cooper, long term patron of Lingfield Park Golf Club, will be an honoured guest at the opening and honing his skills on some of the new facilities.

The new extensive academy compliments the recently opened award winning 4* Marriott Hotel and Country Club at Lingfield Park, part of a £30 million re-development. The academy boasts :- three putting greens, a six hole practice green, a bunker practice area, a nine bay driving range, a covered area for lessons, a video coaching facility all set beside the stunning 18 hole golf course.

Lingfield Park’s team of in-house golf professionals are looking forward to making use of the new facilities. Chris Morley PGA Senior Golf Pro at Lingfield said, “The new facilities provide us with everything we need for teaching and will give the players extensive practice areas. It also provides us with endless opportunities to attract new people locally at all levels including beginners or corporate hotel guests who may want a team building type of event.”

As well as a newly created Golf Academy membership, the new facilities will be open to annual golf club members, day golfers and hotel guests.

The Lingfield Park Golf Club was established in 1987 and is set amongst 200 acres of beautiful Surrey parkland; part of the Lingfield Park racecourse 450 acre estate. The course is a challenging 18 hole, 72 standard scratch course that is 6487 yards in length. The course was the home of the Surrey PGA Open for three consecutive years and over time has built a reputation for excellent facilities, fine golf and great hospitality.

The Lingfield Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club was opened in May 2010 by Dame Judi Dench. The Hotel, which recently won an international design and architecture award, offers 116 Bedrooms, a selection of private and hospitality suites, a spa, restaurant, and the 18 hole golf course. The hotel also incorporates a new golf club house, pro shop, changing facilities and golf lounge. In addition to this there have been many enhancements to the course, including the new academy which features 3 putting greens, a 6 hole practice green, a bunker practice area, driving range and starters hut.
