La Cala receives Golfshake’s seal of approval

8.26am 18th February 2020 - Course Development

La Cala Resort has been ranked in the top-three of golf destinations worldwide by independent course-review website, Golfshake. Compared against more than 15,000 reviews submitted by real-world golfers in 2019, La Cala achieved one of the highest ratings on record, placing it at the top of the rankings for courses outside of the UK.

More than 150 reviews for La Cala were posted on Golfshake.com last year with every single visitor recommending the resort or stating they would play at La Cala again. La Cala was awarded the coveted status of ‘Highly Recommended’ in Golfshake’s Golf Course Awards 2019, based on a rating of 4.54 stars (out of five) – among the highest of 30,000 courses reviewed worldwide.

Golfshake is home to more than 250,000 independent reviews reflecting the expectations of everyday golfers. Venues are rated across a variety of categories including the challenge and condition of courses, pace of play, value for money, hospitality and off-course offering.

Director of La Cala Resort, Sean Corte-Real said: “No feedback matters more to us than the views of real golfers – that’s why we’re incredibly honoured be rated so highly by GolfShake’s community of reviewers.

“Recognition like this is a massive step towards cementing La Cala’s position as a bucket-list destination for golfers across Europe.”

The latest accolade comes just a month after La Cala was named the Best 4* Golf Resort in Spain at the 2019 International Travel Awards and best 4* hotel in both Spain and Europe at the 2019 International Hotel Awards.
