June opening for Riquelme at Polaris World

8.15am 22nd May 2008 - Course Development

The opening of the fourth Nicklaus Design golf course at Polaris World in Murcia has been confirmed at the Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort in June 2008. Hacienda Riquelme joins the elite group of golf courses already completed as part of Polaris World’s Nicklaus Golf Trail. With only three more Resorts to be completed, the dream nine-course trail will soon be a reality.

Riquelme Best Golf is a magnificent 18 hole, par 72 golf course by Nicklaus Design. Wide, ample fairways encourage speculative driving but combined with hard to approach greens, this is a course full of surprises. The greens are lined with challenging bunkers ready to complicate approach play and the stunning lakes of Riquelme Best Golf require players to take added caution.

An extremely scenic course, Riquelme Best Golf is surrounded by wild flowers, olive trees and large lakes. The low construction density of the luxury properties around the course means that much of the view consists of unspoilt blue skies in this region of Spain that enjoys more days of sunshine per year on average that anywhere else in Europe.

The Resort itself is designed for the ultimate experience of freedom and nature, one that provides an incomparable feeling of well-being generated by the rational layout of its flanked avenues and its perfectly incorporated plant life. It all comes together around a late 19th Century, colonial-style country house.

The house at the heart of the resort was the home of the Riquelme Family, descendants of Guillà©n Riquelme, a noble knight who accompanied King Alfonso X the Learned on his conquest of Murcia. It has been restored to preserve the country house tradition of Murcia, and to maintain the balance between the romanticism of the past and the modernism of the future.

Polaris World is the number one in luxury Spanish property offering beautiful two-bedroom properties from as little as £80,000. A development of seven world-class golf resorts, Polaris World boasts nine Nicklaus Design golf courses forming the Nicklaus Trail, the largest Jack Nicklaus golfing experience in Europe. All Polaris World golf resorts are situated in Murcia, a province in the South East of Spain that basks in over 300 days of sunshine every year and enjoys an average temperature of 21°.

With 9 restaurants, 7 bars, a Kings College British school and many other first class facilities, Polaris World not only offers fantastic property but also an enviable standard of living.
