3.39pm 30th October 2020 - Course Development

IMG Clubs were honoured with six awards at the 2020 World Golf Awards, including Ba Na Hills Golf Club in Danang, which was once again recognised as the Best Golf Course in Asia and best course in Vietnam.

Other ‘best course’ awards went to Chee Chan Golf Resort (Thailand); Dreamland Golf Club (Azerbaijan); Royal Bled (Slovenia) and Zala Springs Golf Resort (Hungary).

This is the fourth consecutive year that Ba Na Hills has won the Best Course in Asia and Best Course in Vietnam. Opened in 2016 and designed by Luke Donald in association with IMG, Ba Na Hills is also managed by IMG and is now globally recognised as one of the world’s great golf courses.

Chee Chan won Thailand’s Best Golf Course for the first time. Since opening in 2018, the resort has set new standards of excellence and is now clearly recognized as a superstar of Thailand golf.

Zala Springs won Hungary’s Best Golf Course for the second consecutive year. The resort is recognised as one of the best golf experiences in Europe and has a stunning location close to Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe.

Paul Burley, Senior Vice President, IMG Golf Course Services commented: “We are very proud of the high-quality clubs that we have in our global portfolio, and for IMG clubs to receive top honours in six awards categories is outstanding, and a testament to the incredible commitment of our partners at each club. It’s a challenging year, and I would like to thank the World Golf Awards for their support of the golf industry, and for continuing to reward the best golf courses around the world during this unprecedented time.”
