IGRM drives Anguilla project

8.22am 12th June 2008 - Course Development

The latest contract in the exclusive island destination of Anguilla has been secured by International Golf & Resort Management (IGRM), recently founded by Michael Longshaw, former managing director of Brocket Hall.

The residential beachfront community which Longshaw and his team have planned has just gained planning permission. Owners and visitors to the new community will be able to play golf on the nearby Nicklaus and Norman designed golf courses.

IGRM is moving forward now as a player in the golf and residential property industry with several new contracts secured in interesting locations around the world.

The company will be the driving force behind this spectacular beachfront community in Anguilla. IGRM has teamed up with Global Investment Group, a UK property developer (who are the developers of the planned resort), to bring to fruition one of the most prestigious private residential communities in the world.

Known as ‘Sanctuary at Long Bay’ and located close to the western tip of the island, the exclusive complex will be built in keeping with the levels of luxury now expected in Anguilla.

It will include 39 ultra modern ´super´ villas and 40 apartments overlooking one of the best beaches in the Caribbean, together with a beach club comprising swimming pool, tennis courts, restaurant, bar, gym and spa.

Michael Longshaw is well qualified to lead the project. He spent two years living in Anguilla when managing the Cocoloba Hotel on Barnes Bay in the early 90s. Having undertaken the market and financial study to determine the opportunity for Global, IGRM has gone on to produce the master plan recommending the concept, standard, scale and range of facilities as well as the best market positioning and target markets.

Construction on Long Bay will commence in six months time with the three year building programme managed by Global and BCQS a leading Caribbean project management company. IGRM will operate the resort upon completion in late 2010, this will include all aspects of managing the community including both the rental programmes and concierge service facility.

International Golf & Resort Management was formed early in 2008 to fill an opening in the market for management services to golf facilities, integrated resorts and residential developments. It has offices in London, Marbella and Mexico City.
