The Grove, London’s five-star golf resort, has underlined its reputation for delivering an exceptional experience for golfers by winning a prestigious international award.

The Hertfordshire destination, within easy reach of central London, the M25 and Heathrow Airport, was rated best for ‘Overall Guest Experience’ from a list of more than 250 upmarket golf courses in 27 countries managed by Troon®, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing.

Based on customer feedback surveys, the award accurately reflects guest ratings and with an overall score of 98.4% The Grove triumphed over five-star international venues around the world to prove itself a world leader in creating outstanding, memorable golf days out.

Anna Darnell, Director of Golf at The Grove, said: “The Grove is the only golf venue in the UK to have been selected to host a World Golf Championship event and every day the golf team here strives to make all our guests feel like they are the world’s number one golfer, playing a tournament-conditioned course and being treated to world-class hospitality and customer service.

“The Grove is a club without members, so we ensure all our guests, whether they are here for a fun round with friends, playing in one of our open amateur competitions, a corporate outing or pro-am events, enjoy a memorable day out. The results of the customer feedback survey suggest we are succeeding in this, which is why we are welcoming back guests time and again.”

The 18-hole course at The Grove was designed by world-renowned architect Kyle Phillips and is rated ‘England’s Number One Pay-and-Play Golf Course’ by Golf Monthly magazine.

The Grove plays host to some of the UK’s leading amateur open golf tournaments, including its annual ‘Back on Black’ series where competitors experience the course from the back tees, mirroring the set-up seen at the 2006 WGC-American Express Championship, won by Tiger Woods.

The resort also features a luxury hotel and spa, with 26 bedrooms in the historic, Grade II listed mansion house and 191 spacious, stylish rooms in the contemporary West Wing.
