Golfers Get In The Swing At Sports Domes

7.39am 14th December 2012 - Course Development

Golfers can swap cold and windswept courses for state-of-the art facilities under the roof of a new sports dome.

The structure is one of a pair of Sports Domes at Tees Road, Seaton Carew, Hartlepool, which are due to open to the public in the new year and, while the other houses six, five a side football pitches, the golf dome has been equipped with the latest facilities to help golfers improve their game and their handicap.

An indoor driving range, with a crosshair target to track the flight of the ball, will help golfers improve their swing and they will be able to hone their chipping and putting skills on a specially constructed sand bunker and chipping range.

However, the highlight of the Golf Dome is undoubtedly its simulator bays, which offer golfers the chance to experience the challenge and excitement of playing on a choice of 80 real, international courses in an enjoyable, social, club atmosphere.

In addition to its sporting facilities, the golf dome will house a café bar and a shop, which will stock a full range of clubs and equipment along with top golf clothing brands.

Elsewhere on the site the existing Mayfair Centre building has been turned into a fully equipped gymnasium with membership for around 2000 people, a sensory room to stimulate disabled children and an interactive room aimed specifically at youngsters.

Sports Domes owner Brian Morton said: “The golf dome has been created to provide challenges and entertainment for golfers at the highest level and we also expect it to appeal to companies looking for an alternative venue for corporate meetings and events.

“Golfers will also find it its 24 degrees centigrade temperature to be a vast improvement on the harsh winds and driving rain associated with theNorth East coast”

In line with more conventional golf venues the Golf Dome will offer club membership to golfers at a cost £100 per annum paid in 10 monthly instalments of £10 with members entitled to receive a number of special offers and incentives.
