Nestled between the emerald waters of the Pevero bay and the Cala di Volpe bay, Pevero Golf Club is a spectacular destination and home to one of Italy’s finest golf courses. Designed by legendary golf architect Robert Trent Jones, the layout has been ranked by Golf Magazine as one of the world’s Top 50 golf courses, aided by the pristine natural beauty of its landscape.

To add to the quality that is already on offer at Pevero, the golf club have created a partnership with Francesco Molinari; 2018 Open Champion Golfer and Ryder Cup star. Opening in late 2023, The Francesco Molinari Academy will be the Italian’s first teaching base and will be open to all members and guests of the destination.

Golfers will be able to benefit from the experience of one of the most technically efficient players in professional golf, and Francesco Molinari will ensure that his team of coaches adopt his philosophy of commitment and concentration in the pursuit of excellence. Molinari will visit the camp throughout the year, including at the Academy’s launch event, hosting coaching clinics and meeting both members and guests.

Of the partnership, Francesco Molinari said: “It’s long been a dream to open my own academy, and the first location simply had to be in Italy! Pevero is a beautiful location, and I’m delighted to be creating a facility which will rival the best in Europe.”

Area Manager Costa Smeralda and Hotel Cala di Volpe & Pevero Golf Club General Manager, Franco Mulas, added: “In line with the Qatar Investment Authority’s development plan, the opening of The Francesco Molinari Academy was bound to coincide with the 60 years of Hotel Cala di Volpe and the complete renovation of the hotel.”

“We are glad that Francesco has agreed to work with us and open his first teaching academy. Now, golf enthusiasts can improve their game at the Hotel Cala di Volpe’s golf course, the iconic Pevero Golf Club, with a world-class academy that promises to reach new sports heights.”

We are honored to introduce the first Francesco Molinari Academy to the world, and we are delighted to offer guests an extraordinary sporting experience in Costa Smeralda. 2023 will certainly be remembered as an unforgettable year at our wonderful destination.”

With the addition of the academy, Pevero Golf Club has also joined an elite group of courses around the globe in becoming an IMG Prestige venue. The IMG Prestige portfolio includes some of the highest-profile courses in the sport, from Open Championship sites, to Ryder Cup host venues, as well as some of the most familiar names from both the PGA and DP World Tours. Membership to the network will provide Pevero Golf Club members with exclusive access to this enviable network of leading courses and resorts from around the world and will further reinforce Pevero’s reputation as one of Italy’s finest golfing destinations.

Russell Hannah, Vice President, IMG Golf Course Services concluded: “Our network of courses within the IMG Prestige programme is home to some of the world’s most celebrated venues. We’re thrilled to welcome Pevero into the group, and can’t wait to work closely with Francesco and the team to bring this incredible new addition to life.”
