Costa Daurada Golf Club in Spain has expanded its facilities with the opening of a new nine-hole pitch & putt course, as well as new paddle and tennis courts.

The pitch & putt course, called PDD, is situated just 100 yards from the main course, overlooks the Mediterranean coast and has been prepared to the same quality and customer service standards as the full 18-hole layout.

The new 9-hole short course at Costa Daurada is ideal for beginners and experienced players alike

Covering 1,400 metres, the short course offers players a variety of teeing options and hole lengths, perfect for all ages and abilities. The layout, which is set amongst the surrounding woodland, provides subtle challenges with teasing hazards and undulating greens.

Alongside member and guest rounds, PPD has been granted ACPP affiliation, enabling the facility to host several tournaments throughout the year. Entering events and booking tee times could also not be easier, with a portal built in a seamless and modern fashion with live availability via the official app.

Speaking about the new developments, Joan Monzó, Director of Golf, Costa Daurada Golf Club, said: “We are delighted to be unveiling these new facilities to our guests in advance of 2020. The PPD has been a major addition to our golf club and it has been great to see local families utilising the course. Our hope is that we will see more international guests visiting us and using our full range of leisure activities.”

Lumine Mediterranea Beach and Golf Community has recently invested in expanding its ‘golf-only’ focus too, having recently renovated the Lakes clubhouse, enhanced the golf courses and launched a new Toptracer facility at the Lakes driving range. Offering 45-holes in total, it also plays host to the prestigious European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage – further cementing the reputation of the region The additions at both locations will drive families and groups to the venues, boosting leisure participation and competitive socialising throughout the day and into the evening. In addition to the seven championship golf courses located across the Costa Daurada, guests are certainly spoilt for choice.

Marta Farrero, Costa Daurada Tourist Board Director, said: “As we welcome more guests each year, it has been vital to continue  improving and diversifying our guest offering. With the addition of the PPD and courts at the Costa Daurada Golf Course, alongside the international coverage of Qualifying School at Lumine, we hope that more golfers will consider the Costa Daurada as their next golfing holiday location. It will be a trip they will never forget.”
