Birchwood Park range undergoes £750k revamp

10.41am 14th May 2021 - Course Development

Birchwood Park Golf and Country Club in Kent has completed a £750,000 redevelopment of its driving range which will officially be opened today (May 14.)

The driving range has become the first in the area to install TrackMan Range technology, while also introducing all-new food and beverage facilities.

The redevelopment – funded by club owner and operator Burhill Group Limited (BGL) – comes following the success of the company’s first three TrackMan Range installations at venues in Nottinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey, and a boom in membership numbers at all 10 clubs last year.

The state-of-the-art facility boasts a remodelled driving range with 30 TrackMan Range touch-screen bays, as well as two VIP areas. The new range has seating in each bay and will be operational between the hours of 11am-10pm daily.

TrackMan technology is trusted globally by 96 of the world’s top 100 golfers, and with the ground-breaking new range product, players can tee it up at major championship venues like the Old Course at St Andrews, enjoy practice sessions, challenge friends in innovative game modes, or simply enjoy time with family.

The technology precisely measures each shot, giving instant feedback on ball speed, carry distance, launch angle and more. Information is then either displayed on an in-bay monitor or via the free mobile app which records all shot data in a player’s profile to review later.

In addition to the upgraded practice facilities, there has also been a new bar installed with two wood-fired pizza ovens and a grill area that will be serving a selection of drinks and hot food in sustainable takeaway boxes.

Stephen Norton, the club’s general manager, said: “We are extremely excited to be able to offer this brand-new, state-of-the-art facility to our members and visitors from the region. This vastly upgraded range will allow guests with all levels of golfing ability to enjoy their time us, whether playing games socially with friends or having a serious practice session. With an array of new food and beverage options also available, we are looking forward to providing the ultimate entertainment experience.”

Birchwood Park also offers a full-length 18-hole golf course and 9-hole course that is perfect for all standards of golfer.
