No stranger to the ATT TMSystem™ Steven Connolly, Course Manager at Kirby Muxloe Golf Club, has introduced the SMARTSarel cassettes into his regular maintenance regime.

Steven first came upon the TMSystem™ about 10 years ago during his time at Windmill Village Golf Club in Coventry.  From then on he has been a convert and has introduced the system to other clubs he has worked for – the last being Ansty Golf Centre in the Leicestershire area.  “At my first club we had the full range of ATT SMART cassettes – Vibration, Verticutting, Brushing etc.” he says, “They were so useful and versatile that I’ve managed to convince every employer since then to invest in them.”

Whilst he has only been at Kirby Muxloe for 7 months the Sarel rollers, supplied by The Grass Group, have quickly become an integral part in his maintenance regime.  They are used once every 2 weeks to work in whatever product is used to top dress the surface – wetting agent, feed etc.  “The key,” he says, “is to open it up, stop it sealing and work in the material.  As we manage to add other SMART cassettes, especially the SMARTVibe unit, the system will play an even bigger part in our greens maintenance work.  We have the common TMSystem™ chassis so adding to the cassette list is just a question of budget, but I’m hoping that every six months will see a new set in the shed.”

Steven believes it’s the perfect bit of kit, “especially for the trainees as it’s a great way for them to get a feel for a machine.  Not really able to go wrong with it; and certainly not able to do any real damage.”
