Antognolla Golf has been awarded the title of ‘Italy’s Best Golf Course’ at the 2020 World Golf Awards, which were announced today (October 29).

Antognolla Golf, located in Umbria, topped the list of Italian golf courses. The award rounds off two extremely busy years, which have seen a significant renovation of the golf course and investment in the team to deliver the quality golfing experience that has now been deemed ‘Italy’s Best’.

Accepting the award on behalf of the owners and entire team, Antognolla’s Golf Director César Burguière, said: “Everyone connected with Antognolla Golf is absolutely thrilled to be voted as ‘Italy’s Best Golf Course’ for 2020. We can see it, and our members and guests know it, but it is just amazing to receive such recognition from the World Golf Awards for all the team’s hard work and commitment. We would like to thank everyone who voted for us and we look forward to welcoming more guests and players to Antognolla Golf in the future.”

He added: “Italy has many fantastic golf courses and the re-emergence of Antognolla Golf is another reason for golfers to pick Italy as their chosen golf destination. With the completion of our luxury resort and residences operated by Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas in 2023, Antognolla will offer an amazing blend of luxury accommodation, food, wine, landscape and culture, providing an outstanding golf holiday experience. The vast scope of the estate will allow for a multitude of recreational activities, emphasising guest well-being, connecting with nature and the local community. In the meantime, with the Ryder Cup now in 2023, we hope to see Italy at the forefront of European Golf over the next few years.”
