Another Bulgarian appointment for Braemar Golf

7.59am 3rd November 2008 - Course Development

Thracian Cliffs Golf and Spa Resort EAD announce the appointment of Braemar Golf of St Andrews to provide golf course construction management services for the completion of the 18-hole Gary Player golf course and to subsequently set up and manage the golf course operations when the course opens for play in 2010.

In keeping with its mission to provide golfers with the best golf experience in Europe, Thracian Cliffs Golf and Spa Resort EAD has engaged Braemar Golf to ensure that the extraordinary Gary Player designed golf course will be completed to the standards of perfection that the location and the designer and developers demand.

Located in a spectacular setting along 4,500m of the Kaliakra cliff on Bulgaria’s Northern Black Sea coast, Gary Player says, “The dramatic nature of the Thracian Cliffs site, from the white cliffs to having holes right on the Black Sea, will allow this course to rival any golf experience in the world, including Pebble Beach.”

Based at the home of golf in St Andrews, Scotland, Braemar Golf combines a deep knowledge and passion for the game with a thorough understanding of the commercial realities of the business aligned with its proven experience in delivering financially successful and sustainable golf operations in diverse locations and markets throughout the world.

Keith Haslam, managing director of Braemar Golf stated, “We are delighted to be working alongside Gary Player Design and General Hotels Management on this fantastic development that will without doubt be one of the world’s most spectacular golf destinations.”

Last month GBN announced that Braemar Golf had been appointed to manage the golf facilities at Pravets Golf and Spa, located just 30 minutes from the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.
