York based developer The Skelwith Group has unveiled plans to build the biggest luxury hotel in the north of England, set around a 27 hole golf course at Flaxby Park Golf Club.
The five-star Flaxby Country Club will include over 300 rooms, four helipads, three restaurants, luxury spa complex, bars and boutiques, set around the existing golf course – nestling in nearly 300 acres of rolling North Yorkshire countryside.
The golf course was designed by David Hemstock Associates.
Planning permission has been granted for the £100 million development. Work will start later this year and is set for completion in 2011.
Located between Harrogate and York, The Flaxby Country Club will offer unrivalled luxury with individual rooms being sold to investors, offering guaranteed returns for 8 years.

Returns for the hotel rooms are guaranteed at 7.5% for eight years. Prices for a standard hotel room start at around £90,000. This investment is also available to put into SIPPS to make it tax efficient. The Skelwith Group is setting up a SIPP vehicle for clients to use.
The development will create over 500 jobs at all levels for local people and is expected to boost the local and regional economy.
