Leading golf distribution company Worldwide Golf Brands has appointed Don Haymes as Finance and Operations Director.
With 25 years’ experience in leadership positions across various retail sectors, Haymes will take on responsibility for all operational functions of the business as it starts a new chapter in its ongoing development plans.
“We have been through a period of rapid expansion over the past five years,” comments WWGB Managing Director Graeme Stevens. “Now is right the time to take stock, evaluate our operations and create a strategic plan to take the business forwards. Don’s expertise will be invaluable to me and the team as we take on that task. His involvement in the day-to-day operation of the company will also allow me to refocus my attention on exciting new opportunities for the business.”
Haymes, whose recent experience takes in roles as a Financial Director and Chief Financial Officer across a wide variety of retail operations, said: “Worldwide Golf Brands has worked hard to secure its position in the golf industry, so this is an exciting time to join the business. My formal training as a chartered accountant has taken me into senior positions in finance and operations across a wide range of retail businesses. As an avid golf fan this new challenge provides the perfect combination of my passion and my experience in one role. I am looking forward to bringing my expertise into the industry and being central to WWGB’s development over the coming years.”
Haymes has been working with the team across all areas of the business over the past month and will take up his position full time from the start of October.
