USP Brands splits with Etonic

12.35am 6th January 2006 - Corporate

Leeds based golf equipment company, USP Brands Limited, has announced the termination of their agreement to supply the US footwear brand Etonic to the UK market. The strategic decision was made as a result of USP Brands looking to concentrate on its core business in 2006.

Founded in 1984, USP Brands portfolio now includes Progen and Fazer equipment, Ogio bags and the high quality performance outerwear brand Sunice, which was introduced to the UK & Europe in spring 2005. A full new range from each brand will be launched into the market in early 2006.

Etonic will continue to be available to UK retailers through a new distributor Trimproof Sales Ltd, based in Co. Meath in Ireland (telephone + 353 46 9431396). Trimproof will continue to use most of the existing Etonic sales force. As of the 1st January 2006 all warranty issues will be handled by Trimproof.

Marcus Illingworth, managing director at USP Brands is looking forward to the year ahead: “After the incredible success of the launch of Sunice in 2005, we knew we needed to concentrate resources from other areas of the business into developing the new range along with sustaining the success of our other existing brands, Progen, Fazer and Ogio and the only way forward was to end our agreement with Etonic.”
