TurfCare reaffirms leading position in Ireland

8.30am 14th May 2004 - Corporate

Since the start of the year, the Toro main dealer and Ireland’s only Toro certified elite contractor, has successfully completed installation contracts at Royal County Down and Grange Castle Golf Clubs and is part way through installations at Enniscorthy Golf Club in Co Wexford as well as a new 18 hole golf course currently under construction at Castleknock, Dublin. The company has a number of other important contracts that will be carried out at different stages during the year.
Sales manager Frank Dargan said, “This year is a busy one and we are always thankful for that. We have put a lot of time and effort into making TurfCare Irrigation the company that it is. We pride ourselves on offering the best service at competitive prices and because of this we are being awarded prestigious contracts.”
The company’s service division, under the supervision of Stephen Daly, is similarly reporting a very busy spring and early summer. The service division has grown steadily and continues to invest and examine ways of ensuring that every customer gets an effective reliable service. To cope with the extra work Tony Ward, previously an engineer with Lowara Pumps, has been employed as a service engineer.
TurfCare Irrigation is also Ireland’s main supplier of biological wastewater treatment systems and now has systems installed in a number of locations around Ireland. TurfCare introduced the Mi-T-M Bio Series to the Irish market at Sportsturf Ireland last year, as environmental concerns and legislation has forced all golf course and sports field managers to look closely at how they handle the wastewater arising from washing machinery and equipment.
EU directives and subsequent Irish legislation now make it an offence to allow untreated waste water to enter lakes, ponds or watercourses and the penalties for non-compliance, together with the collateral cost of any clean up, can be significant. The Bio Series offers a solution to this that is simple and low cost to operate and maintain and is available in a range of sizes to suit different types of golf course and sports field maintenance operations.
