Titleist wins Open ball count yet again

12.20am 26th July 2006 - Corporate

Once again the majority of the world class field had one thing in common at the 135th Open Championship at Royal Liverpool: they placed their trust in the superior performance of the legendary Titleist Pro V1 to negotiate Hoylake’s fast running fairways and challenging greens.
The superior performance of Titleist golf balls has continued to eclipse all others at this event, maintaining the #1 position for a remarkable 27 consecutive years. This year, 106 players (68%) in the field teed up at Royal Liverpool with either a Pro V1 or Pro VIx, more than 6 times as many as the nearest competitor with 17 players. In fact eleven of the top fifteen finishers trusted Titleist golf balls including runner up Chris DiMarco (Pro V1) and third placed Ernie Els (Pro V1x). Other notable Titleist ball players in the top 15 included Adam Scott (Pro V1) and Ben Crane (Pro V1x) plus Retief Goosen (Pro V1x), Angel Cabrera (Pro V1x) and leading British player Anthony Wall (Pro V1x).
The record-breaking Pro V1 family provides the game’s elite with a choice of two high performance golf balls to suit their game. The Titleist Pro V1 provides improved launch conditions for longer distance while maintaining superior Drop-and-Stop™ performance into and around the green, while the Pro V1x delivers longer distance via slightly lower spin off of the driver, as well as lower spin on full iron and wedge shots for improved greenside control for higher swing speed players.
