The Golf Business adds three exclusive new contracts

8.00am 24th June 2009 - Corporate

Within weeks of passing over its highly successful Galvin Green agency in UK and Ireland to its principal, The Golf Business Ltd (TGB) has secured three exclusive new contracts to add to its established portfolio of products.

Leading American brand, EP Pro, the top selling ladies golf clothing range in the US, and up market belt designer Druh from Thailand, are joined by the famous Canadian belt brand Canterbury in the TGB portfolio for discerning golfers that already contains the popular men‘s clothing line Oxford Golf and CourseGuide, publisher of the premier golf course planners.

"Having guided Galvin Green to the top of the waterproof and outerwear market and made great inroads with the brand in golf clothing as a whole over the past nine years, we really do mean business with our exciting new portfolio of brands for the UK and Irish markets," said Tim Street, TGB Chairman and MD.

"The Galvin experience has given us the confidence to invest in these brands, that look good and perform well and, we believe, we have the team to market them effectively, plus the selected customers to sell them," he added.

The new TGB team includes Sales Director, Chris Thundow, who has been involved in the clothing industry for 28 years in buying, sourcing and sales capacities, including his recent role selling the Oxford Golf range.

A former Product Director for Glenmuir and Grampian International, Chris has considerable brand building experience with names such as Joey Rodolfo, Chervo, Fairway & Greene, Peter Millar and Rukka.

"As someone who has also owned and run his own shops, I appreciate what golf shop operators are looking for and what pressures they are working under.  Now we can offer them an excellent range of clothing for both men and women from brands that have proven sales records," said Chris.

Another new member of the team based at the Chertsey head office is Jane Brooker, who has joined in the new position of Manager, Ladieswear and Belts.  Jane has many years experience in supplying and selling product to the clothing and sportswear markets, predominantly to major high street outlets and chains, as well as considerable knowledge in the sale of UK manufactured product overseas.
