TGI Golf logoIn the year the TGI Golf Partnership, Europe’s leading golf retail services group, owned by PGA Professionals, celebrates its 30th anniversary it has also broken through the 500 retail outlets barrier.

This marks a record high for the group in terms of Partners and high quality retail outlets now part of the TGI Golf network spanning across the UK and Ireland, where the group is now the largest of its kind.

Since its inception in 1984 TGI Golf has been held in high esteem within the golf industry, thanks to the dedication and professionalism of its PGA Professional Partners based at some of the country’s leading venues such as Royal Liverpool, Royal County Down and North Berwick.

This year has seen PGA Professionals at clubs such as Carnoustie Golf Links, DelamereForest and Killarney sign up to take advantage of best buying terms, marketing material and free expert assistance from TGI Golf’s experienced support team.

Eddie Reid, Managing Director, said: “This year has been a landmark year for the group on two fronts with the 30th anniversary and so many PGA pros seeing the benefits of joining the group. It is a testament to the high regard, in which TGI Golf and our Partners are held that so many forward thinking PGA Professionals and prestigious clubs want to be a part of our family.”

TGI Golf’s merger with Ireland’s EurPro substantially increased its representation on the Emerald Isle, adding considerable buying power to the country’s PGA Professionals and making it Ireland’s largest golf retail group.

David Ryan, PGA Professional at Cahir Park Golf Club, Co. Tipperary, joined TGI Golf in January as part of the merger. He said: “Joining TGI Golf was a great decision for my business and already I’m seeing the benefits of being part of the group.

“Little things like the excellent, and free, point of sale material available to us make the shop look neat and professional, especially with the personalisation and branding we can add. Also having a dedicated Irish Retail Consultant come in and give us assistance with merchandising and advice on how we can enhance areas is invaluable to my business.”

Eddie Reid added: “The TGI Golf Partnership goes from strength to strength and while the benefits we offer to PGA Professionals have changed considerably over 30 years, one thing that will always remain the same is that the group is still wholly owned by, and dedicated to, PGA Professionals.

“It’s easy to see why so many Pros, from all manner of clubs, whether municipal, private members or resorts, are realising the benefits of investing in their business and joining us.”
