TaylorMade’s revolutionary r7 quad driver was named as the ‘Best Driver Over £300‘ by the readers of ‘Today’s Golfer‘. Since its launch in the Spring the driver, which features moveable weight technology, has enjoyed un-paralleled success winning over 30 tournaments world wide including the US Open. “This most recent accolade only goes to prove that it has been driver of the year both on Tour and in the market place,” said a company spokesman. The popular R500 series was also named as runner up in ‘Best Driver Over £300‘ category.
Success, however, was not limited to TaylorMade drivers with the V-Steel range also winning the ‘Fairway Woods‘ category.
In addition to the metalwood accolades TaylorMade was also highly commended in the ‘Best Putter‘ category with its Rossa Monza, as used by Scott Drummond to win the Volvo PGA Championship, and the ‘Best Golf Bag‘ category with the TaylorMade Taylite 3.0.
adidas Golf also had a successful season and finished highly commended in the ‘Best Golf Shoes Under £50‘ category with the adidas adiwear 3-stripe; the ‘Best Golf Shoes Over £50‘ category with the adidas ClimaCool, which features 360 ventilation for optimum comfort in warm conditions, and the ‘Best Clothing Brand‘ thanks in part to its hugely successful ClimaCool range, which will again feature prominently in 2005.
Commenting on the awards TaylorMade-adidas Golf managing director Rollen Jones said, “We are obviously very pleased to have received these accolades, particularly as the awards are nominated by the consumers. We have experienced a remarkable year with great success in the marketplace as well as on the worldwide Tours. With our continued momentum and strong product portfolio, we are optimistic for even more successful 2005”.
