STX Golf rolls into Japanese Market

12.39am 30th April 2012 - Corporate

STX in Orlando

Gijyutsu Kenkyusho represents a jewel in the export crown for STX, opening up a market of  some 10 million golfers in the world’s second largest golf market.

A team from the Japanese distribution company sat down with STX at the PGA Show inOrlandolast January after trying out the putters during the Demo Day. Company President Miss Ai Asano and Sales Manager Mr Naoki Wakisaka have built an impressive business since they began trading only in 2011, currently boasting an account base of 500 stores, Tour players, teaching coaches and golf schools.

Aside from any other complementary factors, both companies apparently share a desire to hurry up and seize as large a share as possible share in a supposedly slow market!

“We could never legitimately call ourselves an international player in the putter market without solid representation in Japan,” comments STX’s International Golf Distribution Director Wayne Farrell. “It is a revelation doing business with Japanese golfers. Both golf businesses and golfers themselves in Japan have an intensity and a sense of resolve that is extraordinary. I find it really inspiring doing business there, as well as coaching and demo days.”
