8.14am 23rd September 2013 - Corporate

SimpsonCupStewart Golf have been selected to be the official trolley supplier to the Great Britain team in this year’s Simpson Cup. The Ryder Cup styled event is taking place at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club from 22nd – 25th September 2013

The Simpson Cup is a unique event, run by the On Course Foundation, that will pitch 13 injured Servicemen and veterans from the UK against their American counterparts in a Ryder Cup style tournament over the challenging links course at Lytham, a venue that has hosted the Open Championship ten times.

Stewart Golf CEO Mark Stewart said “It is an honour to support such an incredible event, the On Course Foundation provide an excellent opportunity to our wounded and injured Servicemen through the fantastic game of Golf, something we are very proud to be associated with.”

The event is named after the Founder of the On Course Foundation, John Simpson. The On Course Foundation is a golfing charity (operating in the UK and US), that offers injured Servicemen the opportunity to learn golf, and importantly supports their transition to civilian life via work experience and employment opportunities in the golf industry.

The UK Foundation has been running for three years, and in that time it has experienced huge success, and since the Simpson Cup in 2012 (held at TPC Sawgrass in December 2012) On Course Foundation USA has launched and is already helping many injured Servicemen, women and veterans.
