Srixon closes the gap

12.23am 5th December 2008 - Corporate

After 29 straight months as the UK’s Number 2 golf ball brand, Srixon is proud to announce that according to the monthly Retail Audit undertaken by Sports Marketing Surveys*, the company has at the end of October 2008 achieved a 20.9% brand share of the UK Golf Ball market.

This is the first time that Srixon has broken through the 20% barrier and is also the first time since the Retail Audit began in February 2002, that any company other than the market leader has achieved more than a 20% share

In June 2006, the gap between the market leader and Srixon was 22.5 percentage points, but at the end of October 2008, this has been closed to 6.3 percentage points – a remarkable achievement for a subsidiary only started in the UK in 2001.

Srixon is the Number 1 two piece golf ball brand in the UK market* and its AD333 ball is the best selling 2 piece ball in the country*.

Srixon has more than 250 Staff Players internationally, including Henrik Stenson and Jim Furyk and between them they have won 38 tournaments to date in 2008 and more than 100 in the last 3 years.

Spring 2009 will see the launch of a ground breaking range of new 3 piece balls from the Company – further details to follow after Christmas.
